Module Overview

European Field Trip

he module provides an overview of the history and institutions of the EU. The module is centred on a one-week long field trip to a city or cities in a neighbouring EU member state. Module participants will be involved in identifying the destination and curation of the itinerary. Destinations are not revisited across each four-year cycle.

The field trip allows students to explore planning and environmental management practices in a specific European context.  The excursion will expose students to comparative spatial planning and environmental management systems across Europe. Students will prepare a Project Handbook compiling their trip experience. While the bulk of analysis is undertaken in observation mode during the field trip, the Project Handbook is normally compiled on the student’s return. The excursion is accompanied by an academic staff member(s).
