This laboratory and field-based module is focused on the development of laboratory and analytical skills in the assessment of environmental quality. Standard laboratory tests and environmental analytical equipment are introduced to the student. The aim of the module is to develop the student’s laboratory and report writing skills and to introduce the student to a range of standard analytical techniques used in the assessment of air, water and soil quality. The basic concepts involved in environmental monitoring will also be introduced.
