The aim of this module is to provide you with a solid understanding of digital technologies and approaches for assessing their potential value for transforming sports business organisations as well as how to develop a digital transformation framework. Digital technology is unlocking unprecedented opportunities for growth in the sports industry. To capitalize on this opportunity, however, digital will need to be embedded in every aspect of the business, transforming people, processes, and technology. This module is concerned with the role of information systems, technologies, and strategy in sports business and sports organisation. It explores how technology and information can be best used to achieve the organisation’s goals and in doing so gain strategic and sustainable competitive advantage within its business sector. This module will also provide students with the practical skills required in developing and managing a sports business. This module equips students with capabilities for identifying, evaluating, and integrating digital technologies in the transformation of sport business processes, as well as the development of new ventures and opportunities.
