Spanish 3

The aim of this module is to build on the student's knowledge of the grammatical structures and appropriate vocabulary necessary to comprehend, communicate and function with ease in Spanish and to understand the socio-cultural, professional and academic environment of Spain and other Spanish countries consistent with Level A1/A1+ of the Common European Framework for Language Learning.

Reading & Writing

Focus on comprehension of written texts pertaining to socio-cultural, educational and professional environments; written production and register awareness

Speaking & Listening

Further development of speaking, listening and communicative skills in Spanish

Grammatical awareness

Grammar- eg. tenses, articles, nouns, conjunctions .

Topics/Themes

People; personal details, roles & occupations, friends & relationships, likes & dislikesHome: accommodation, cities, countries; placesOn the move: getting around; directions; public transport & travel

Teaching & Learning takes place through communicative language classes, where students practise, develop and demonstrate development in all skill areas: reading, listening, speaking & writing. Individual and group activities, use of varied and authentic media, resources in VLE and both self-directed and lecturer-directed activities within and outside of classroom.
