Module Description:
Applied Management provides students with a practical approach to management theories and skills. Students will analyse case studies drawn from real-life company situations and make recommendations.
Module Aim
The aim of the module is to apply course work theory to real-life situations in the business environment. Students will analyse an organisational problem and use models, concepts and analytical skills to identify and arrive at an appropriate solution to an organisational problem. Understanding both a company’s internal and external environment are also important elements in this module. In-class discussion, group cases and presentations will play a significant part in the development of the student’s presentation skills.

Learning and teaching methods will include a combination of lectures and learning through the case study method. Group presentations and understanding and questioning class member’s contributions. Extensive use of case studies will be utilised as a means of discussing and analysing management decisions. This will facilitate learners in developing and applying their understanding of management concepts and strategies in today’s organisations.
