Module Overview

Digital Business Skills for HR Advanced

The aim of this semester two module is to further develop the essential digital skills required for learners to flourish as HR practitioners and managers of the future. This module is essential to the growing understanding and strategic use of, in the first instance, database technology tools in HR in the current business environment.

HR practitioners and managers have an absolute need to be able to use digital data storage and analytical business skills to do research, correlate results, generate reports and present meaningful information within the organisational context. As such the overarching goals for this module are to:

Enable learners to develop their cognitive understanding of digital business skills, and

Provide learners with the tools they need to demonstrate those skills in a simulated environment.

The second part of this module is intended to help students link the practical relationship between digital business skills and excellence in HR practice. Using software, provided to TUDublin, that is in use in organisations, specifically in the HR realm, students will undertake evaluated learning and assessments. For their engagement, students will receive a Digital badge certifying their participation and completion of the two components on offer.

The aim and goals of the module will be achieved by ensuring that upon completion of the module learners can recognize the strategic role of data in supporting all systems and functions of an organization and in particular the HR function.
