This module is designed for students who may have completed courses at Level A1 in German on CEFR (or equivalent). The aim of this module is to further develop all four language skills in an integrated manner – reading, writing, listening & speaking. It aims to develop students’ grammatical awareness, to introduce relevant vocabulary to comprehend and communicate in German, and to help students understand socio-cultural (and professional) environments in Germany and the German-speaking countries, cognisant of the UN Sustainability Goals. It is bench-marked at Level A2.1 on CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference)

Teaching & Learning takes place through communicative language classes, where students practise, develop and demonstrate development in all skill areas: reading, listening, speaking & writing. Individual and group activities, use of varied and authentic media, resources in VLE and both self-directed and lecturer-directed activities within and outside of classroom.
