The aim of this module is to further develop all four language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. It aims to build on existing grammatical structures and further expand vocabulary to function more competently in both social and work environments in Germany and the German-speaking countries, in line with the UN Sustainability Goals. It is benchmarked at Level A1.2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Topics/themes
College life, timetable, subjects and activities; personal preferences, hobbies and leisure activities; Daily routine and plans for future; Ordering food; culinary traditions and practices; Travel & accommodation, time, weather. .
Teaching and Learning takes place through communicative language classes where students practise, further develop and demonstrate progress in reading, listening, speaking and writing. Individual and group activities, use of selected and authentic media, VLE resources and self-directed and lecturer-directed activities within and outside of classroom.
