The aim of this module is to further develop all four language skills - Reading, Writing, listening and speaking. It aims to build on existing grammatical structures and further expand vocabulary to function more competently in both social and work environments in Spain and Spanish speaking countries in line with the UN Sustainability Goals. It is benchmarked at level A1.2 of the Common European Framework for Language Learning (CEFR).
Functional language
Further development of skills: reading (comprehension), writing (grammatical accuracy, idiomatic expressions) oral (conversation, asking and responding) and listening (responding to audio and video material)
Pronunciation
French pronunciation and intonation .
Culture awareness
Contemporary France and Francophone countries, to include, for example, geography, traditions, food, wine, music. educational environments, work environments, companies, products.

Grammatical awareness and application
Teaching and Learning takes place through communicative language classes where students practise, further develop and demonstrate progress in reading, listening, speaking and writing. Individual and group activities, use of selected and authentic media, VLE resources and self-directed and lecturer-directed activities within and outside of classroom.
