Through the analysis and production of written texts for a variety of contexts and readerships, students will develop and practise a range of skills enabling them to write for professional purposes. Students will develop their writing skills in ways that reflect and demonstrate their understanding of professional contexts, reader expectations, writing conventions and text function as parameters in (professional) writing.
The aims of the module include:
· developing students’ abilities to write effectively and appropriately for a range of professional and academic purposes;
· developing students’ confidence and competence when approaching diverse writing tasks;
and equipping students with the requisite skills to compose texts that adhere to academic and professional requirements, conventions and expectations.
