Objectives of Government: Macroeconomic objectives of Government. Conflicts and Trade-offs. Socio-economic policy.
Irish Industrial Policy: Tracing policy from 1960s to present day.
Theories of International Trade: The Law of Absolute and Comparative Advantage.
The Labour Market: Employment / Unemployment. Inflation and Unemployment:
Topical Issues: National Debt. Balance of Payments. Exchange Rates.
A variety of methods will be used including lectures, tutorials and may include formal teaching, class discussion, problem solving and case studies.
