This module will provide students with advanced knowledge and practice of clinical immunology with a particular focus on autoimmunity, allergy, and primary/secondary immunodeficiency. Students will explore current state of the art methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of these diseases relevant to clinical laboratory practice.
Overview of Clinical Immunology in the pathology service.
Dysregulation of the immune response as it pertains to immunodeficiency and inflammatory diseases including autoimmunity and allergy.
Diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers of selected immune disorders. Qualitative and quantitative immunochemical techniques to diagnose and monitor immune-mediated disease.
Modulation of the immune response through immunotherapeutics.

Lectures, tutorials, student presentations, case studies.
Students will receive formative feedback via a detailed performance rubrics for video mini-lectures.
