Social Welfare

If your sole income is derived from Social Welfare payments, or if you are the dependant of a person with such, you may be eligible for a reduction in the tuition fees payable to TU Dublin - Tallaght Campus for Professional Institute and undergraduate programmes.

Step 1: For New and Re-registering students an online application must be made to include the TU Dublin -   Tallaght Campus €100 application fee when applying.
Step 2: The application form will be reviewed by the appropriate Head of Department and the applicant will be offered a place on the course if he/she had met all the requirements for entry to the course/year of their choice.
Step 3:  The remaining €550 registration fee must be paid before lectures commence.

Please note that Professional Institute applicants, new and re-registering must pay the full fee on acceptance of the offer.
Step 4: The completed Social Welfare Claim form must be stamped and dated by the applicants local Social Welfare Officer. (The form must be dated on or after the 1 January 2019.) 
Step 5: The Social Welfare Claim form must be returned to the Part-Time Student Information Desk at TU Dublin - Tallaght Campus on or before Friday 22 February. No forms will be accepted thereafter. No claims can be made retrospectively.
Step 6: The application will be considered by the Institute and student records will be updated by the registrar's office if they have qualified for the concession.
Step 7: 50% of total fees must be paid by 31 October 2018 and the remainder of the fees must be paid by 31 January 2019 to avoid withdrawal of services.

Please note that this concession is not available to a student whose fees are paid on his/her behalf by any organisation or group.
