The student is expected to achieve the following learning outcomes:

- Work under direction and on one’s own initiative, as appropriate
- Demonstrate an understanding of the business operations of the hospitality and tourism sector
- Professionally provide services to clients in the hospitality and tourism sector

The internship is supervised and a learning agreement is established between the industry mentor, the academic co-ordinator and the student. The Internship is awarded 30 credits. Students complete an on-line reflective diary (Student Diary Pro) while pursuing an internship placement abroad/ nationally.
