As an international student, you may require a visa to study in Ireland. A list of countries whose citizens do not require visas to enter Ireland can be found at

Full Degree undergraduate and postgraduate students must be enrolled on a full-time course of study in order to obtain a study visa and comply with Irish immigration regulations. All students from outside the EU/EEA (European Union / European Economic Area) must register in person with the IRISH NATURALISATION IMMIGRATION SERVICE (INIS) - (formerly Garda National Immigration Bureau -GNIB).

It is advisable to visit the INIS website to book appointments well in advance of arrival.


English Language Requirement

Students spending one or two semesters at TU Dublin - Tallaght Campus as part of an ERASMUS or other exchange programme must demonstrate a CEFR level of B1 in English.

Students studying towards a full academic qualification are required to provide supporting documentary evidence of their competence in English.
