Incoming Inaugural President
Thursday, 20 December 2018: Following the designation for TU appointment by Minister for Education and Skills, Joe McHugh TD, the soon to be established Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is delighted to welcome Professor David FitzPatrick as its inaugural President. He will take up his role on the 1st of January 2019.

Minister welcomes Oireachtas draft order approval for TU Dublin
Following the granting on 17 July 2018 by the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, T.D., of the application for technological university status made under the Technological Universities Act 2018 by Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and Institute of Technology Tallaght, the Dáil on 16 October 2018 approved a draft order by the Minister, appointing 1 January 2019 as the date on which these three Institutes of Technology shall be dissolved and the new Technological University Dublin shall be established.

10th Annual Volunteering Fair Please be advised that the 10th Annual Volunteering Fair will take place in IT Tallaght on Tuesday next 16th October from 11.00am - 3.00pm. We expect to have 25 charities and community organisations attending the event and they will showcase their volunteering opportunities to both students and staff.

MiCRA unveils – “TOXOR”
17 September 2018 – Screggan, Tullamore Institute of Technology Tallaght Researchers – working at MiCRA- Biodiagnostics, an Enterprise Ireland funded Technology Gateway, will exhibit their revolutionary TOXOR technology as part of Innovation Arena 2018, at the National Ploughing Championships.

Programme wins Tech Excellence 2018
The MSc Applied IT Architecture developed and delivered in IT Tallaght, in partnership with Technology Ireland Skillnet, has won the 2018 Tech Excellence award for Professional Development. This prestigious award marks another achievement for the programme aimed at developing IT Architects which recently gained accreditation from IASA, the Global Association for IT Architecture.
