10th Volunteering Annual Fair Oct 16th

Volunteering Open Day at IT Tallaght Oct 10th 2018

10th Annual Volunteering Fair
Please be advised that the 10th Annual Volunteering Fair will take place in IT Tallaght on Tuesday next 16th October from 11.00am - 3.00pm. We expect to have 25 charities and community organisations attending the event and they will showcase their volunteering opportunities to both students and staff.

This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of our Volunteering Fair and we are proud to say that we have achieved our target of “time-banking” 10,000 hours in the last academic year.  Management in the college have supported this initiative and have matched the 10,000 hours with €10,000. On Tuesday, the 16th of October, the successful applicants will receive the academic supports that they have applied for to allow them to successfully enjoy their college experience whilst also adding to the community they live in.

At 1.30pm Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor will be in IT Tallaght to attend the event and will deliver a key note address in 001 from 1.45 – 2.30pm.  Other guests will include Cllr. Mark Ward -Mayor of South Dublin who will be in IT Tallaght earlier in the day.

The Fair is part of the College’s work on enhancing civic engagement and making links with the wider community.  Please drop by the stands and encourage your students to consider “volunteering” some of their time. You yourselves may be volunteering also and we celebrate this commitment to the wider community. You are most welcome to be part of the day to make IT Tallaght’s Volunteering endeavour central to the identity of the College.
