About the Course
This is a one-year follow-on programme to the Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Production. The programme aims to give science/engineering graduates an advanced in-depth study of the specific needs of pharmaceutical production and technology transfer. Students will gain hands-on experience through assignments undertaken in the Institute’s Pharmaceutical Education Centre. The programme is designed to allow graduates to work in API, biopharmaceutical and finished dose manufacturing. Programme delivery is done over two college semesters. Candidates must take all modules on offer in each semester.
The programme consists of two taught modules, an industry-based work assignment and a thesis and it will incorporate a combination of regular seminars, tutorials and practicals. The Institute’s Pharmaceutical Web Campus provides online access to course material. Candidates are expected to be working in a relevant industrial setting and will be expected to carry out some assignments at their place of employment
Entry Level
All applicants must be employed in a relevant industrial sector . Selection may be by interview. To be eligible, applicants must hold the Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Production from ITT Dublin or an equivalent or a relevant honours degree with significant work experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical production and bridging studies using selected modules from the Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Production where the Institute considers it appropriate. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.
