About the Course

The MSc in Information Technology Management is a taught Masters programme (NFQ Level 9) which provides an opportunity for IT professionals to enhance and update their knowledge of the latest technologies and research activities within the important fields of Distributed and Mobile Computing.

The programme covers topics in Cloud and Virtualisation Technology, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Scalability, Innovation, Governance and Strategy among other current topics. Participants complete a 30 credit dissertation, with the aim of producing work of a sufficient standard to publish. Graduates of the programme report obtaining new positions and promotions as a result of participating in the programme.

The programme
Students taking the programme select 60 taught credits from the range of modules available with Research Methods and Strategy, Innovation and Governance being mandatory. The wide elective choice is designed to allow participants decide which modules are more relevant to them.

Entry Level

A BSc (Hons) in Computing (Level 8), 2nd class honours grade 2 (2.2) minimum or an Honours Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in a scientific, mathematical or engineering discipline, 2nd class honours grade 2 (2.2) minimum, subject to relevant work experience. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English in accordance with Institute admissions regulations.  Candidates may be interviewed to determine eligibility.
