The BSc Honours Degree in DNA and Forensic Analysis delivered by TUD –Tallaght Campus is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

The component standards for this course are: Interpretation, Evaluation and Presentation of Evidence, Laboratory Analysis and Crime Scene Investigation.

This Level 8 honours degree programme is academically accredited by the Institute, and also has professional accreditation from the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS).

The CSFS is the professional body for forensic practitioners and this stamp of approval from the Forensic Science Society means that employers know that graduates come from a programme of study that provides sufficient skills and knowledge to

1.         Interpret, evaluate and present evidence

2.         Conduct lab analysis using methods routinely used in forensic science

3.         Perform techniques involved in crime scene investigations

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate Requirements 
Leaving Certificate with a minimum of Grade H5 in 2 Higher Level subjects, and a minimum of Grade O6/H7  (Ordinary Level) in 4 other subjects. Ordinary level Maths at Grade F2/O6/H7 or higher. English or Irish at Grade O6/H7 or higher.
