About the Course
The IT Management programme in IT Tallaght has operated successfully since 2005, successfully delivering specialists for the management of the IT resource in organisations. The updates to the programme give a stronger emphasis on DevOps, Automation, IT service management, governance and organisation allied to strong technical knowledge and skills in IT infrastructure, Networking, Systems, Testing and Performance.
The programme caters for the growing need for Cloud Services Specialists to Provision, manage, test and maintain cloud applications, The updates are in response to detailed discussions with Microsoft on the skills needed for these roles and additional consultation has taken place with IT Services Engineers from Amazon, Ergo and IBM to ensure that the programme offers a variety of current technologies. Current IT Management students typically complete projects in the areas of Cloud Infrastructure, Virtualisation, Networking, ELearning, Web Design and Development and Data Visualisation.

Leaving Certificate Entry Requirements
At least grade H5 or better in two higher level papers and grade O6 or better in four ordinary level papers in the Leaving Certificate including English or Irish and Maths. Pass in Foundation Level Mathematics (F2) is acceptable for this course.

You should be expecting to score better than a F2/O6/H7 grade in Ordinary Level Mathematics if considering this programme.

Career Opportunities
In 2015 over 90% of IT Tallaght Level 8 Department of Computing graduates found employment in ICT Sector roles within 3 months of graduating with 5% going on to further study. Salaries ranged from €22k to €52k with typical salaries in the region of €35k for good development roles.
Graduates go on to a wide range of roles with a typical distribution shown below. IBM was the single largest employer closely followed by SAP and Ergo Systems. Other employers were Sage, Intel, Bearing Point, PaddyPower, Microsoft, Dell, Guidewire, Allnone, Dell, ERS, Telecity.
