(3-Years full-time with option of 1-year add on to Level 8 B.Eng (Hons) in Biomedical Design)

This course explores the application of engineering principles to solve the considerable challenges faced by clinicians trying to improve patient quality of life. The course begins by providing the student with a strong foundation in core biomedical topics such as human anatomy, biomechanics and materials.

This core knowledge is further developed as the course progresses onto topics such as Medical Imaging & Graphics and Medical Device Design. Students will also gain an insight into the medical device industry during modules on Regulatory Affairs and Management & Professional Development. Graduates of this course are well equipped to enter a wide variety of roles in the Biomedical sector such as Product and Process design, Manufacturing, Production and Automation.

Grade O6/H7 or better in 5 ordinary level papers in the Leaving Certificate including English or Irish and Maths. Pass in Foundation Level Mathematics O4/H7 or higher.
