Disability Access Route to Education (DARE)
TU Dublin Tallaght is part of the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) scheme. School-leavers with a disability applying for full time undergraduate programmes at the Tallaght Campus should apply via the Central Applications Office (CAO), indicating on their application that they have a disability or specific learning difficulty. TU Dublin - Tallaght reserves up to 5% of places on all full-time undergraduate programmes to DARE-eligible students. There is a points reduction of up to 12.5% on each programme.

What is the DARE Scheme?
TU Dublin Tallaght is a member of the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) Scheme. DARE is a third level alternative admissions scheme for school-leavers whose disabilities have had a negative impact on their second level education. DARE offers reduced points places to school leavers who as a result of having a disability have experienced additional educational challenges in second level education. 

Who can apply to DARE ?
DARE applicants must be under the age of 23 as of 1st January 2020, who have the ability to benefit from and succeed in higher education, but who may not be able to meet the points for their preferred course due to the impact of a disability in their second level education.
Applicants to DARE can present with an Irish Leaving Certificate, A-Levels and other EU qualifications.

Please note that applications to both DARE and HEAR will go live via cao.ie on 5th November 2019.

 

How do I apply to DARE

  • Step 1: Apply online to the CAO by 17:15 on 1st February
  • Step 2: No later than 1st March, you must indicate in your CAO application that you that you wish to apply for the DARE scheme and you fully and correctly complete all elements of the DARE form (the DARE form is part of your CAO application)
  • Step 3: Submit relevant evidence in support of your application to arrive at CAO no later than 17:15 on 15th March 2020.
