Standard Applicants

Where a CAO applicant needs to complete Part A of the CAO application only, they are defined as a ‘standard applicant’.

An example of a standard applicant would be a school leaver who has successfully completed the Leaving Certificate examinations in Ireland and wishes to apply for admission to a first year programme in higher education via the CAO using the Leaving Certificate points awarded.
