Our student are pictured with the Irish team, then with Diarmuid Rush, Head of Dept of Mechanical Engineering and Fiona Cranley, Head, School of Engineering at the launch with Minister Halligan last week.

Minister Halligan unveiled the Pod which Team Eirloop will use to compete at the International Hyperloop competition in California next week. He had some very positive comments from the event last week:

Fiona Cranley - Head of School of Engineering & Diarmuid Rush - Head of Mechancial Engineering with IT Tallaght students - part of the Eirloop team.

“Team Éirloop are an inspiring group of young, driven and ambitious students. As an entirely student-led team from IT Tallaght, IADT, DIT, DCU, UCD, NUIM and TCD, Team Éirloop have shown great initiative and resourcefulness. Their success to date on developing a faster mode of transport is extraordinary, making it to the finals of the Hyperloop competition on their first try. There is no doubt that the accomplishments of Irish projects, such as Éirloop, positively impact Ireland’s international reputation for science and innovation excellence and I wish the team all the best as they approach the finals of the competition this July.”
