IT Tallaght students gather to celebrate inaugural 1916 Bursary Fund Awards

On Monday 21st May, 25 students from IT Tallaght, DIT and ITB gathered in Grangegorman to celebrate the awarding of the 1916 Bursaries.

Professor Brian Norton, President of DIT acknowledged the hard work of all three Institutes to encourage greater participation of those in society who are not traditionally represented in Higher Education and that 1916 Bursary Fund was a powerful addition to the range of supports offered by ITT, DIT and ITB.
Also speaking was Dr. Louise Callinan, Access Policy Officer in the Higher Education Authority who discussed the organisation’s National Access Plan which is designed to ensure that the student body in Ireland’s higher education sector reflects the diversity and social mix of Ireland’s population.

The event was well attended by the recipients, their families and friends and by staff from all three Institutes.
