About the Course
This programme aims to produce well qualified electronic technician engineers for employment in the design, manufacturing, quality maintenance and sales functions of local, national and European industry. It builds on the technical foundation established at Certificate level while providing the opportunity to add a level of specialisation to a strong technically focused programme
NFQ Level 6 in Engineering or equivalent.
All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.
Important Course Information
Students can attend on a day release (from 9 am until 10 pm Tuesday or Thursday) OR evenings (from 6 to 10pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). Attendance can be as flexible as the schedule allows.
The schedule offered will depend on the number of students attending the course.
3 semesters per year,
Winter: September to December exams in January.
Spring: February to May exams in May
Summer: May to July exams in July*

This programme is accredited by Engineers Ireland and on graduating you will be invited to become an associate member of that organisation. You will find employment opportunities in high technology industry, software design teams and hardware design. The School of Engineering has strong links with many companies in this sector, including Intel, Analog Devices, Xilinx and HP. However, due to the range of subjects offered on the course there are opportunities in many other sectors, including telecommunications.
The growth of the telecommunications industry will drive a strong demand for qualified engineers. Skills developed include programming, system design and strong digital signal processing knowledge, all of which are attractive to a wide range of sectors besides engineering. This course also prepares students to progress to the Honours B.Eng. Electronic Engineering.
Fees & Funding
Academic Year 1 €1240 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee)
Academic Year 2 €1240 (Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee)
If completing individual modules/groups of modules the individual fee per module is €190 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee of €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination (up to a maximum of €70 per academic year).
