Type of Qualification:

Week commencing 19 September 2016
About the Course
The Higher Diploma in Business (Marketing Management) is a new postgraduate qualification that is a result of consultation with industry and graduates. It is designed specifically to equip graduates from a non-business discipline with the skills necessary to pursue a successful career in marketing. In recognition of the fact that students will have already completed a degree programme (at NFQ Level 7 or 8), the emphasis is very much on the development of the knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the role of the marketing professional. Communication and teamwork skills are fostered and real issues from the rapidly changing world of marketing are discussed and analysed.
Graduates who have successfully completed an Ordinary Degree (NFQ Level 7) or above in engineering, science, humanities or arts are eligible to apply. Graduates with a non-marketing award in areas like accounting, management and human resources are also eligible to apply. If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available 25 places, selection will be determined on the basis of GPA (grade point average). All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.
Students who successfully complete this programme are eligible to apply for a Masters in Marketing (NFQ Level 9 programme).
This programme will equip successful graduates with the skills necessary to pursue a career in any marketing oriented environment, from a large multinational corporation to a small-to-medium sized business. For those who would like to set up their own business, this programme gives them the confidence and ability to pursue their goals.
