This programme prepares you for gaining employment in the area of marketing communications:
Be part of the team that designs successful advertising and communications campaigns for public and private sector organisations. Advise companies as to how they can get the most out of their Public Relations activities. Devise sales promotions programmes that help launch new products or help boost the sales of products in competitive markets.
Come up with ideas that harness the potential of new technologies for communicating with new and existing customers. Design a digital marketing strategy that includes Search Engine Marketing, Email, Social Media, Mobile, eCommerce, Website Optimisation, Search Engine Analytics and Optimisation and Viral Advertising.
Be involved in organising major sporting, musical and cultural events. Work in a public or private sector organisation and be responsible for their advertising and marketing communications activities. Apply for the BA (Hons) Degree in Advertising and Marketing Communications programme (1 year) sometime in the future.
Students who successfully complete the programme are eligible to apply for the one year BA (Hons) in Advertising & Marketing Communications
What do I Need?
Applicants apply through the CAO and must obtain at least Grade D3 (ordinary level) in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. The subjects must include either English or Irish. Ordinary level Mathematics (Grade D3) is also a requirement.
Please note, all applicants must submit a portfolio
In addition applicants are required to prepare a portfolio that must be submitted to the Institute by Friday 5th May 2017 at the latest.
Mature students welcome
Mature applicants (over 23 years of age) may not be required to meet the minimum entry requirements, and may be considered on their merits. Mature applicants apply through the CAO, and must also prepare a portfolio that must be submitted to the Institute by Friday 5th May 2017 at the latest.
