Mechanical Engineering Courses at IT TallaghtThe BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering allows students to develop a deeper understanding of engineering principles and acquire the ability to quickly grasp engineering issues across a range of different fields. The graduate engineer will be able to offer solutions to problems that are driven by well-developed analytical and practical skills.

Mechanical engineers are trained to be creative and inventive and society calls upon them to solve many difficult problems as well as creating new devices such as medical instruments.

Many opportunities are available to the experienced professional engineer in terms of continuing to lead engineering design projects or alternatively, to enter the world of management.

In the final year of the programme students are provided with a major design project and this important element of the programme is designed to develop problem solving, design, project management and communication skills.
