The conference will be based at DIT Aungier Street ( which has excellent conference facilities and is in central Dublin. Dublin City Centre hotels can be expensive, so booking as far in advance as possible is advised.

17th SEFI MWG Seminar

Mathematical Education of Engineers - Dublin, Ireland, June 23 – 25, 2014

The SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) Mathematics Working Group (MWG) was established in 1982. The aims of the Working Group include providing a forum for the exchange of views and ideas amongst those interested in engineering mathematics, and promoting a fuller understanding of the role of ma­the­matics in the engineering curriculum, and its relevance to industrial needs. The Working Group will issue the third edition in September 2013.

In summer 2014, the 17th SEFI MWG seminar will be jointly organised by the Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT), the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown(ITB),  in Dublin, Ireland. The main topics of the seminar will be the following ones:  

Transition to higher education for traditional and adult learners
Learning mathematics through project work
Experiences with working with mathematical competencies
Working with engineers to develop the curriculum
Using technology to improve mathematics education

Other contributions related to the mathematical education of engineers are also welcome.
