Humanities at ITT Dublin
The Department of Humanities provides undergraduate and graduate programmes of study in Social Care Practice, Creative Digital Media, Culinary Arts, International Hospitality and Tourism Management and European Studies.
Students are provided with specialist training and education utilising the latest technologies and teaching methodologies. Students pursing courses in European Studies spend part of their studies abroad, while students taking courses of study in Culinary Arts receive some of their practical training directly in industry. Students on the International Hospitality and Tourism Management programme complete an international internship in Europe or in the US. Social care Practice students complete two periods of block placement so that they are prepared for work in the sector and can be registered as social care practitioners.
Lecturing staff within the department are actively engaged in many research fields while other academics are engaged in research and consultancy with industry, which ensures that each programme offered is academically and practically focused. This benefits the student as each course of study fosters creative, critical, competitive and practical competencies.
