Assistant Lecturer in Sports Science Nutrition – Permanent  Post

The Institute delivers a very successful programme in the area of Sports Science and Health. The aim of the course is to educate students in the scientific foundations of sport performance and lifelong health. Graduates from the course would be expected to have expertise in areas including nutrition, exercise physiology, sports medicine and biomechanics, behavioural science and research methods.
 
The Institute now have a vacancy for an Assistant Lecturer in Sports Science Nutrition. 

The successful candidate will be lecturing in key areas of the program including;

  • sports and exercise nutrition
  • molecular exercise physiology

It is also desirable that the candidate would have excellent communication skills so as to engage the students in this discipline area.  The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise the research undertaken by undergraduate and post graduate students. Further information and application form >>

Bioassay Development Scientist (MiCRA Biodiagnostics)
(Contract Post for 12 months with possible extension by a further 12 months)

MiCRA Biodiagnostics has an exciting research position for a Bioassay Development Scientist to work on the development of TOXOR Biosensor Technology: Application to Water Industry Toxicity Testing.

The role requires a dedicated and creative scientist with practical knowledge in cell culture or analytical microbiology. The bioassay developer will be involved in the development of TOXOR; preparation and characterisation of functionalised polymer surfaces for the immobilisation of relevant cell lines, integration of living cells with electrode-based sensors for designing electronic toxicity assays for environmental water analysis.  Further Information and application form >>

MiCRA Biodiagnostics has an exciting research position for a Sensor Development Scientist: Design and engineering work on electrochemical sensors and fluidics for development of TOXOR Biosensor Technology: Application to water industry toxicity testing.

The role requires an enthusiastic and creative scientist with practical knowledge and experience in electrochemical sensor development. TOXOR has a fish-cell bioreactor in a fluidic line with an array of electrode-based sensors which detect and quantify enzyme reaction products and assess the metabolism of living cells before and after exposure to water-borne toxic agents. Further Information and application form >>
