Programme Outcomes
On successful completion of this programme the learner will be able to :

| | (a) | (i) basic mathematical and scientific formulae and techniques to solve well-defined engineering problems;
(ii) basic scientific techniques and how they apply to electronic engineering;
(iii) standard technologies and techniques used in the solution of well-defined engineering problems with particular reference to electronic engineering;
(iv) a wide range of tools, techniques and equipment, appropriate at engineering technician level, including computer systems and applications, electronic production, assembly and test, and computer aided design and simulation;
(v) core areas in Electronic Engineering such as Telecommunications, Networking, Control Systems, Analogue and Digital techniques (including microprocessor systems) and Mathematics (including applied statistics) at a level consistent with Engineering Technicians.

(iv) ability to successfully realise electronic systems from schematic to completed assembly, including test, debug and commissioning;

(vi) ability to operate in industry at Engineering Technician level, given the appropriate industrial induction and training;

(v) ability to gather basic data from codes of practice, databases and other sources and to generate data using a range of IT systems and laboratory and workshop equipment;
(vi) ability to use engineering IT tools such as simulation packages, programming languages, CAD packages.
(vii) ability to use oral, written and electronic methods for the communication of technical and other information.
