In 2002, the Pharma R&D Team was established and secured funding from PRDSP Strand 3 in that year to expand on a series of activities with DIT and NUI Maynooth. It received IRC status in June 2006. This inter-disciplinary team of researchers is jointly located at ITT Dublin, DIT and NUI-Maynooth. The central objectives CPRD include the development of novel therapeutic agents with defined pharmaceutical properties and the elucidation biochemical processes central to control of specific diseases.  Since 2002 our research team has contributed to several strategically important research areas including development and application of agents with antimicrobial and anti-cancer activity with a view to commercialisation and product development.
