Applications from those without Irish Qualifications.

If you would like to apply to ITT Dublin but you have qualifications from a country other than Ireland, there are a number of ways to check if your qualifications meet the requirements for entry.

These include:
Option one:
Get your qualification recognised through the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI). To have your award evaluated, you must complete an application form and submit documentation relating to the award. Full details of the process and the application form are available on the NQAI website http://www.qualificationsrecognition.ie/recognition/QualificationsRecognition/

Alternatively you can contact NQAI at the following address:
Qualifications Recognition – Ireland
The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland
5th Floor Jervis House
Jervis Street
Dublin 1
Tel: +353 1 887 1500
Fax: +353 1 887 1595

Email: info@nqai.ie

You will need to provide:
• Certified photocopy of the Award (Degree, Diploma, Certificate etc) in its original language
• Certified photocopy of your transcript/mark sheets/list of subjects passed in original language
• Certified translation of the award into English or Irish
• Translation of transcript/mark sheets/list of subjects passed
• A complete application form (available form NQAI)

Option two:
Have your qualification checked by ITT Dublin. ITT Dublin belongs to the Institutes of Technology Central Evaluation Forum(IOTCEF). This group produces a publication, which is reviewed regularly ‘A World of Access’, detailing many of the qualifications from around the world and matching them to the entry requirement for programmes. ITT Dublin will try and match your qualification with the qualifications required for entry to the programme you have chosen.

To help us, you will need to:
• Attach the original transcript of your qualification when you apply for the programme you want to complete. (The qualification or transcript should state the standard obtained, the subject area and the level of the award)
• Attach a certified English translation of the qualification – if the original is not in English. If you would like to check your qualifications yourself, A World of Access is available on the Central Applications Office website (http://www.cao.ie/app_scoring/iotcef.htm)

If your qualification is not covered by this booklet then ITT Dublin will check your qualification on a recognised international database called NARIC (National Academic Recognition database) and then let you know if you have met the requirements for entry to the programme you have chosen.

Admission onto Professional Institute Programmes

Each Professional Institute sets its own Entry Requirements for their qualifications. If you intend to study in ITT Dublin for the examinations of a Professional Institute, you must at the outset verify with the Professional Institute of your choice that you meet the Entry Requirements for registration. It is the student’s responsibility, and not that of ITT Dublin or any of its agents/ staff, to satisfy him/herself in this regard.
