Accountancy Programme at ITT Dublin

In ITT Dublin we prepare students in an academic environment to enter the profession of accountancy. They are exposed to the fundamentals of business including Administration, Law, Information Technology, Strategic Management including Financial and Management Accounting, Auditing, Corporate Finance and Taxation. Students are provided with a focused and targeted programme of modules that are well regarded by both students and the employers of our graduates in industry and professional firms of accountants.

A Bright Future
There are significant opportunities for graduates from this programme to continue their studies at Masters Level or immediately enter a training contract in a professional firm of accountants and pursue the programme of exams of one of the recognised accountancy bodies in Ireland. Some graduates from our honours degree programme have also chosen to follow a career in teaching at second level, in financial services or business related areas in general.

Progression from Leaving Certificate
After the Leaving Certificate some students join us to take the Higher Certificate route to the final Honours Degree in Accounting. Others join the Bachelor of Business Degree (Accounting) class and progress to the Honours Bachelor Programme. It is of course possible to exit after any of the awards and take up employment.

Exemptions from Professional Exams
Graduates of the Accounting programmes from ITT Dublin are entitled to significant exemptions from the professional exams of the recognised accounting bodies in Ireland including the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ACA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) in Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Irish Taxation Institute (ITI).
