Doctor
Dr. Siobhan Kierans is our College doctor and attends the Health Centre 4 times weekly.
Clinics are held on:
Monday 11.00 to 13:30 ( Appointment Only )
Wednesday 11.00 to 13:30 ( Appointment Only
Thursday 11.00 to 13:30 ( Appointment Only
Friday 11.00 to 13:30 ( Appointment Only
NB: Times may change for the coming year, please view the notice board as well as this space for times. Appointments taken at start of clinic.
Appointments can be made through the nurse in the Health Centre. There is a fee of €10 to attend the doctor as a registered full-time student. Additional fee for some Medicals and vaccinations.
The doctors' clinic facilitates the following:
- Treatment for acute illness.
- Support/advice for medical conditions e.g. asthma, eczema, etc.
- Sport Injury treatment.
- Contraceptive advice and prescription.
- Emergency (morning-after) pill and advice.
- Smear tests (arranged for the Alderwood Clinic)
- Pregnancy testing and non-judgemental referral if requested.
- Shared ante-natal care.
- Sexual Health advice including transmitted disease - refferal where necessary.
- Laboratory test referral and follow-up.
- Repeat prescriptions.
- Eye tests for driving license.
- Ear syringing.
- Nutrition counselling and eating disorders.
- Vaccinations.
- Wellness advice and support.

Please be on time for scheduled doctor appointments (made through nurse).
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please notify us within 24 hours to cancel: someone may be waiting for a cancellation and could make use of the time.
Have your student I.D card with you when attending the doctor.
After hours service
A service called DUBDOC is available outside office hours in the event of urgent situations.
Available weekdays from 6pm to 10pm , weekend and Bank holidays 10am to 6pm .The phone number is 4545607.

The service is based in St. James' hospital and offers telephone advice, can arrange a house-call or offer Emergency consultation with a doctor-on-duty in St. James hospital.
Students with the exception of non-Irish E.U. students or students with medical cards will be responsible for any fees incurred for consultation or home visits. Fees at time of print €50 -€55.

There is unfortunately no discount for E111 or E128 holders!
Only medical cardholders within the Eastern Health Board Region need not pay. The rate of pay is €60 - €65.
