Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Production
About the Course
This programme prepares science and engineering graduates for work in the bio/pharmaceutical industry. It allows those already working in the industry to keep their skills fresh and prepares production-based personnel for advancement to supervisory and/or management roles.
Specific Aims:
- To give science/engineering graduates an in-depth study of the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry with respect to production
- To give the student both a sound theoretical and practical grounding in the area
- To provide students with hands-on experience through assignments undertaken in the Institute’s Pharmaceutical Education Centre
The programme consists of a set of mandatory modules with an option to specialise in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical production. Students will normally be expected to carry out some assignments at their place of employment. This programme will run over three college semesters (18 months) part-time. Candidates must take all modules on offer in each semester.

Entry Level
Candidates must possess a science, engineering or related primary degree. Applicants should be in full-time relevant employment in a company operating in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Selection may be by interview. Academic year 1: €3400(Inclusive of ITT Dublin registration fee and examination fee). If completing individual modules/groups of modules the individual module fee is €555 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee of €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination (up to a maximum of €70 per academic year).
