About the Course

This programme aims to give graduates the opportunity to work as professional mechanical engineers and also to create opportunities for postgraduate study in research or taught mode. Other aims include:

  • Providing students with knowledge and skills required to allow them to function in a team-based environment
  • Enabling students to apply analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems
  • Meeting the needs of industry for professional engineers
  • Preparing graduates for working in medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, food, high-volume manufacture, aeronautical and mechanical environments
  • Providing students with opportunity to use standard computer-based tools to develop relevant engineering solutions to various real-life problems

Entry Level

NFQ Level 7 in Engineering or equivalent. All applicants must have competence in spoken and written English.

Please note: Students need a B grade in Maths at NFQ Level 7 and a GPA of 2.5 to enter this programme.

Graduates of this programme are very marketable and have a wide range of career options open to them. They will also be able to seek professional engineering work abroad due to the fact that the degree is accredited by Engineers Ireland and thus internationally recognised. Fees & Funding

€3000 per academic year (4 years) (inclusive of ITT Dublin registration and examination fee). If completing individual modules/groups of modules the individual module fee is €405 plus the ITT Dublin registration fee of €30 and an examination fee of €15 per module examination (up to a maximum of €70 per academic year).
