Career Opportunities
Many businesses depend heavily on the web not just for marketing but also to support their business processes. Current and future uses of the web require a knowledge of distributed computing and security issues as well as web development, server maintenance and application support. People working in this area need to refresh their skill-set to allow them to work in the more complex, security conscious and regulated environment which currently prevails.
For those wishing to pursue further study, this award serves as a useful step along the road because successful participants earn 21 credits towards the BSc in IT Management. The remaining elements of this programme will be available in parttime mode for candidates wishing to obtain a BSc. In some cases the modules will allow participants to apply for the Level 8 Honours BSc programme in Computing.
