This programme provides a sound introduction to engineering principles. Students walk the engineering road with experts and experience at first hand the challenges and the successes of the engineering world. The students begin to learn the language of engineers and begin to think like engineers. It’s a great beginning.

Follow-on Degree
Proposed: Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering
This programme is firmly rooted in the mechanical engineering industry. In the laboratories students face real issues and their preparation and training equips them for jobs in industry.
With the award of Higher Certificate students choose from a wide variety of jobs, particularly in the technician and maintenance fields. Students who progress to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering will undertake studies in engineering analysis, design, manufacture and maintenance. Their training is focussed on complex equipment like computers, medical devices, robots and consumer products.
The final stage on the progression ladder which began with the Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering is to achieve the Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mechanical Engineering. The emphasis here is on design, analysis and manufacturing which ITT Dublin’s Mechanical Engineering Department has exceptional expertise in.
What do I Need?
Entry Requirements
At least grade D3 (ordinary level) in five Leaving Cert subjects - English or Irish - of which.one of these must be ordinary level Mathematics (Grade D3).
Recent minimum CAO points: AQA
Recent points range for applicants choosing this course: 355 - AQA
